Are they? I wouldn't know I have avoided it for a few days. I am already registered so no big deal for me unless they change things up again. Problem is that it is rarely moderated so idiot posts, whether from registered members or not will still appear. Back in the early days (old page), Fortress, Rohan and I were moderators and dealt swiftly with any problems. Fortress rarely posts now and Rohan hasn't posted for ages. I ddi offer to moderate for the new page but they never bothered to reply.

Didn't know you were a moderator back in the day hints.
I don't go on fulham web much more myself, but don't feel differently about it. There's a solid amount of content beside the forum and I remember having a lot of good times with that messageboard.
This is a forum though and by nature is different. Even more so actually since it's a pro-boards forum that makes money for none of us here. The more content, posts and pages we make, the more the adspace. They get the revenue from the viewings of the ads ('cost per thousand view' pricing model) or/and conversions ('cost per click' or 'cost per action' models). Standard stuff. It's in proboards best interest therefore to have forums like this open and flowing which is why they provide a very solid backend structure. Very safe, bot/spam free and easy to set up/maintain. And for a completely free forum, there's quite a lot of functionalities like private messaging, posting videos and so on.

I have to agree that I prefer the format of this board and feel much safer from the intrusions that are now on Fulhamweb. Trouble is not many use it and it has been up and running for a few months now.

The things I like about this set up is that there is an archive and that you can see what has been updated last without having to search through tons of posts, plus you can search for what conversations you are involved with. You are correct there haven't been many come across but I reckon the very threat of a mass walkout is what's behind the Fulhamwebb's owner's sudden interest in content.

Many, many years ago on Fulhamweb there was a poster who called himself, 'Baron'. He said he was in Iceland. His posts were always really interesting, but then he got a lot of abuse and said goodbye. I don't post much on it since someone called Pete started saying things I knew were not true and abused anyone who dared to say so. Even so I read it all the time until it became too stupid and not worth the time. Remember all those O's, that was it for me.

There was a post recently that said Pete died in Australia in 2013 although I don't know how the person knew or whether it's true or not. After him there was AI or AL? Who was equally offensive and put peoples noses out of joint a fair bit. Scrawny and I used to enjoy a bit of banter but it was generally in good humour and mostly over Chris Baird and highlighted that people have, and are entitled, to their own opinions. I don't have a problem with anyone disagreeing with me, I cannot claim to be 100% correct all the time, but there are ways of engaging in discussion and sadly some of the recent posters have been very offensive.
I saw that a lot of the regulars are now registered, but there are still a lot of guests so I suspect it's only a matter of time before it all starts again.

I have always enjoyed Big Dave's one liners - he is a funny guy:-)
